When compared to renowned museums the Al-Jadir Collection is unrivalled in it's range. It is the first comprehensive collection of the work of Muslim and other silversmiths to date.

It is fortunate that the collection escaped the periodical silver melting processes. While artifacts made of stone, wood, ivory, glass, fabrics or other materials may show original decorative techniques, beauty or colours even when damaged, silver work when melted becomes just a silent raw material, an ingot without any human artistic sign.

The collection holds over 11,000 artefacts from all over the Islamic world and it is the result of forty years of collecing.

Although it may still be possible from time to time to find unrelated pieces, antique silver is no longer available on the world markets. Even with the allocation of large funds, it is impossible to build a rival to this collection.
